Sourcing Manager, Packaging for EMEA

At our European Innovation Center (EIC) in Hørsholm, you will step into a multicultural environment with approx. 130 colleagues with 27 different nationalities. At EIC, we represent different functions like IT, procurement, HR to logistics, planning, registration, and supply chain. Besides those vital functions, our site is focused on research and development, and we have recently become the Global Plant Health Center for FMC.

While maintaining our current crop protection portfolio, we are pivoting towards an increased focus on the development of biologicals and a more sustainable product portfolio.
 

Teamwork on a global scale

As our new sourcing manager, you will join an experienced sourcing team, which currently consists of two sourcing managers in Asia (China/India) and one sourcing manager in Latin (Brazil). The Global Category Manager, Dana, is based in the US (Philadelphia). You will also be part of the global procurement team, hereof three colleagues based in Copenhagen.

Our primary goal as a team is to develop and implement sourcing strategies that delivers value by reducing risk, improving quality, lower the cost and provide sustainable packaging solutions.  This is done in close collaboration with external suppliers and internal stakeholders. Your colleagues do an excellent job in building good, trustworthy relationships with all stakeholder, which is crucial to have success in this role.
 

Project management and analytical insight

Your role in the team will be to connect all the dots involved in projects. This requires having the overview and connecting the dots. Daily you will be talking to technical packaging engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders from our supply chain group. You will also bring input to our sustainability group and branding/marketing groups.

As our sourcing manager, you can look forward to:

  • Collaboration with a wide range of different stakeholders and push your projects forward to implementation at plant sites.
  • You dive into analytical tasks, where you analyze key data, on pricing, incoterms etc. and supplier analysis
  • Participating in external industry steering groups, related to new legislation in the EMEA region.
     

This role is a EMEA region role, but depending on your entry-level, there will be an opportunity to also be assigned a global supplier, either immediately or as a development opportunity later.

 

Building relationships and having your eyes on the results

To thrive in this position, you must be comfortable in an outgoing role, where two days are seldom the same. You are curious by nature and are a self-starting engine that likes to be responsible for your own time and tasks. You might expect your week to look a certain way, but come Friday, 80% may have turned out differently – and you are okay with that.

In addition, we imagine that you:

  • Have some years of relevant experience within sourcing, experience with packaging is a plus  
  • Have min. a bachelor’s degree, preferable within a technical field
  • Project management skills and financial acumen
  • Speak English effortlessly
