Job Summary

 

The APAC Quality and Formulation & Packaging Technology Center Manager will lead and group of professionals who have 3 major focus areas:

1) Implement Quality standards and strategies including contamination prevention guidance across the APAC Region.

2) Deliver process safety excellence, technology standardization, successful transfer of NPI’s from R&D to manufacturing, continuous improvement initiatives at FMC’s Formulation & Packaging (F&P) APAC sites.

3) Develop and improve professional competence and functional excellence for the APAC Tech Center professionals.  This role is an integral member of the APAC Leadership team.

 

 

How You Will Help Us Succeed

 

Deliver regional Quality strategy: Develop and implement critical objectives to achieve a robust quality strategy and create a strong quality culture.

  • Deliver the regional Quality Management System for FMC and lead the implementation across the network of owned plants.
  • Implement standard approach to Quality System Management by the toller network and implement, as required and with technical guardian group.
  • Analyze, evaluate, and present quality assurance information for current and potential future products with regional leadership team. 
  • Support/drive cross functional investigations, deviation reports, laboratory investigations, customer quality audits, product complaints, procedures, and change controls related to the division.

 

Implement Contamination Prevention standard: Support/implement the contamination prevention policy and procedures consistent with the Crop Life standard to protect our business and customers.

  • Drive regional implementation of the business standard for Contamination Prevention (CP) and partner with sites to incorporate these standards into site SOP’s.
  • Maintain regional contamination prevention protocols in accordance with the global standard and provide status reports to regional leaders and Quality and F&P Director
  • Identify/support individuals in region to participate in a global network of experts to ensure compliance with CP practices in owned and tolled operations.
  • Support regional audit program through staffing, audit execution to standards, tracking key findings and recommendations.

 

Drive process safety – Implement and ensure adherence to Process Safety standards.

    • Champion for EHS excellence and injury free culture
    • Accountable to drive implementation of Process Safety Management (PSM) program, specifically the Process Safety Information (PSI) and cyclical Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) process, in alignment with goals from the Process Safety organization
    • Ensure full compliance of the APAC technical team with all corporate Health, Safety, Security and Environmental System procedures.

 

  • Drive continuous improvement  Identify and execute process improvement opportunities.
    • Drive a culture of data-based decision making to identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Lead process to prioritize improvement opportunities by applying defined business drivers, affordability, and timing.
    • Champion implementation of standardized methodologies for analysis, development, and execution of continuous improvement projects
    • Drive the analysis and improvements based on data from the Operational Asset Utilization (OAU) tools to meet site improvement goals.
    • Deliver the regional capital budget.  Ensure CDP is utilized for projects over $500K.  Coach and mentor sites in development/execution of projects under $500K

 

 

  • New product implementation:
    • Execute new product implementation for the APAC region – Lead/support transition of new products from R&D technical packages to a commercial scale.
      • Work with R&D on the technology transfer to site
      • Support commercialization of the new product
      • Maintain TTP for each site.
    • Support transfer of current products to FMC owned or tolled sites.
      • Drive development of TTP/SOP at new site
      • Support commercial start-up at new sit

 

 

 

 

What You Will Bring to Us

 

  • ~8 years of management experience in the chemical manufacturing industries experience
  • Strong safety leadership and experience with process safety management
  • Experience in developing and leading a cross functional team of technical staff
  • Strong results driven/action orientated approach to Leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence senior business Leaders.
  • Motivated, self-starter that can execute with minimal direction.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel on a frequent basis approximately 25%
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related engineering field
