What you do with us (Responsibilities)

The  Portfolio Lead – Plant Health Business (PHB ) will be responsible for the overall strategy, development, and management of the PHB portfolio. This role involves driving growth and profitability by overseeing product lifecycle management, market analysis, and aligning the portfolio with the company’s strategic goals. The successful candidate will work closely with R&D, marketing, sales, and regulatory teams at national and regional level to ensure the portfolio meets market needs and regulatory standards.



What you bring (Educational Background and Competencies)


  • BSc Agri with MBA in Agribusiness Management, Indian Agrochemical Industry & agriculture practices, Crop Cultivation Practices, Pest/Disease/Weed management, Rural Marketing, Market Intelligence,
  • New product pre/post launch activities & Product life cycle management skills
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in market research and competitive analysis.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements for PHB.




What you do with us (Responsibilities)


  1. Portfolio Management:
    • Develop and implement the overall strategy for the PHB product portfolio.
    • Manage the lifecycle of products from conception through to discontinuation.
    • Ensure alignment of the product portfolio with the company’s strategic objectives.
  2. Market Analysis and Strategy:
    • Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
    • Identify opportunities for new product development and portfolio expansion.
    • Develop business cases for new product introductions and enhancements to existing products.
  3. Product Development:
    • Collaborate with R&D to prioritize and develop new products.
    • Oversee the product development process to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
    • Ensure products meet regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  4. Sales and Marketing Support:
    • Work closely with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies.
    • Provide training and support to sales teams on product features, benefits, and positioning.
    • Develop marketing materials and campaigns to promote the product portfolio.
  5. Financial Management:
    • Manage the budget for the product portfolio.
    • Analyze product performance and profitability, and implement strategies for improvement.
    • Set pricing strategies to optimize profitability and market penetration.
  6. Stakeholder Management:
    • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding the product portfolio.
    • Collaborate with supply chain, production, and regulatory teams to ensure smooth product operations.
    • Maintain strong relationships with key customers and industry partners.
  7. Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
    • Drive innovation within the product portfolio to meet changing market demands.
    • Implement continuous improvement processes to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

What you bring (Educational Background and Competencies)


Educational Qualification

BSc Agri /M Sc Agri with MBA or equivalent (PGPABM etc)


~15 years of total experience in Agrochemicals Sales and Marketing

Proven track record of managing a successful product portfolio in the pesticide or agricultural sector for a minimum of 5 years

Experience with product lifecycle management and new product development.
