Job Overview:

FMC R&D is looking for a candidate to help develop and maximize FMC’s Research and Development Ecosystem. We know that the pace of scientific and technological advances is rapid, and the need to collaborate with external partners is critical to meet the ever-increasing needs of FMC’s customers. Therefore, we are developing and actively supporting a highly connected ecosystem that will advance tomorrow’s crop protection innovations.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Explore potential ecosystem partners in areas of strategic focus and proactively drive evaluation of and direct engagement with potential partners
  • Build connections, collaborate, and liaise with a multidisciplinary group of scientists across the Research and Development organization
  • Shape potential pilot opportunities with FMC R&D teams and external partners; Facilitate partner negotiations as well as approval process with FMC leadership, including due diligence, business case development, MTAs and MSAs.
  • Develop an understanding of corporate, business and functional needs to align work and decision-making with overall strategies and objectives.
  • Documents and effectively communicates outcomes, decisions, and team responsibilities/ expectations to key stakeholders
  • Maintain awareness of the technology landscape and contribute to ecosystem strategic direction


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Excellent critical thinking skills which can be applied across different strategic areas
  • Ability to seek out and vet information as needed to conduct evaluations and develop POC projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to work well in a team setting and effectively manage stakeholders.
  • Organized, effective leader who can simultaneously manage multiple projects and execute with a sense of urgency and focus on outcomes and impact
  • Detail and process-oriented thinker who can break down complex projects into defined actions and execute on each component


Desirable Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in relevant technical field such as agronomy, chemistry, toxicology, biology
  • Experience in the agriculture industry is desirable.
  • Experience with external innovation and startups is preferred.
