The Corporate Communications External Communications Specialist will shape and execute FMC’s external communications strategy, focusing on owned- traditional and digital media. In order to maintain an editorial calendar for daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly content opportunities, they will be responsible for pitching ideas and accepting incoming assignments from stakeholders across the organization including members of the c-suite.

 

The ideal candidate will be passionate about their ideas and have the courage to challenge the status quo. Whether it be in the types of stories we tell or in the way those stories are delivered, the person in this role will be expected to generate fresh and engaging ideas and execute them in a consistent and timely way.

 

This position will report to the Associate Director of Corporate Communications of the FMC global communications team. 

 

Essential responsibilities include:

  • Maintain and execute the content calendar for external corporate channels, including social media, the corporate website and traditional media
  • Curate and generate multimedia content to engage targeted external audiences
  • Own the corporate social media strategy and execution
  • Support the content strategy and content management of the corporate FMC.com website
  • Analyze and track content performance data to adjust strategies as needed
  • Monitor for competitor or industry news as well as for brand protection
  • Generate news reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders
  • Support crisis and issues management teams as necessary

 

The ideal candidate:

  • Has been in an entry level role for a few years and is anxious to grow
  • Has sustained a focus on traditional and/or digital PR plus social media (prior advancements in role or responsibility a plus)
  • Can articulate the full breadth and scope of a communications plan
  • Considers writing and/or creativity a strength and has an eye or appreciation for art/design
  • Gets excited by technology’s role in this field, and always wants to learn more
  • Is the office go-to for any Office 365 tool, especially Word and PowerPoint, as well as website CMS
  • Thinks about how messaging impacts current events and vice versa
  • Thrives when busy, especially when having to manage multiple priorities at once
  • Understands the imperative to be accurate
  • Owns every last detail of a project
  • Will seek out training or education for competencies they need or wish to improve on
