NA Regional Procurement Specialist

This position supports the Global Procurement Group by providing regional support to leverage local / regional purchases (where applicable), providing site requirements and implementing global and regional agreements. In addition, they are responsible for managing local sourcing needs in accordance with FMC sourcing and contracting processes. This position will ensure that policies, processes and systems are implemented to enable procurement best practices. In addition, this position is responsible to ensure that plant(s) data requirements are met (vendor, materials, outline agreements, source lists, metrics, etc.). Ensures metrics are delivered to drive best in class procurement and service level agreements are met. Provides strong local support to implement supply agreements.



  • Conducts local/regional sourcing when applicable (delegated by Category manager) for materials and services in the region to deliver savings vs targets
  • Partners and supports category managers for strategic sourcing initiatives, including providing local site and business requirements, specifications, system updates, etc..
  • Ensures appropriate local sourcing process takes place according to FMC purchasing policies and procedures
  • Implements global/regional sourcing agreements by facilitating transition with supplier(s) and plants in region
  • Supports Regional Manager in owning data for the assigned region (spend, volume, by region, by vendor, key metrics, etc)
  • Ensures sites are in compliance with global/regional/local purchasing contracts in the region.
  • Works with suppliers to resolve local supply issues, tracks vendor reliability & performance as well as product/material/service quality that get escalated from the site buyer (s)
  • Evaluates supplier performance data and drives improvement at local / regional level
  • Identifies procurement savings opportunities and either executes where appropriate or escalates them to Regional Manager and Category Manager
  • Reviews and approves new vendor requests
  • Works with Regional Procurement Managers and CoE to optimize use of systems and appropriate automation tools
  • Works with other functional areas to streamline and improve process and ensure sites are trained on procurement policies and processes
  • Ensure proper order/transactional execution, data entry and follow-up reporting
  • Coordinate with Regional Procurement Manager and Category Managers the required information to report the budget and forecast information to the Controller’s.
  • Participate in special projects to support procurement and regional procurement process improvement goals (e.g., Procurement IT platform; internal benchmarking for best practices across sites, etc).
  • In some cases, this position may be responsible for supervising site buyers & specialists
  • Support relevant site quality systems, RCMS/Safety Systems, or other such management systems where applicable.



  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 2+ years of relevant functional experience in Procurement, Manufacturing or Business Management preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in working effectively across business lines and partnering with the businesses and departments to meet objectives.
  • Demonstrated influence skills
  • Strong negotiations, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Capable of managing variety of local supplier relationships
  • Practical knowledge of state-of-the-art procurement technology and practices as a business tool to improve overall profitability.
  • Strong working knowledge of SAP and MS office
  • Results oriented; ability to work independently on several projects at the same time
