NAC Commercial and Business Development Manager, Plant Health

 

Duties: Develop a go-to market strategy and tactical plans for Plant Health business in North America (US and Canada) and obtain buy-in from key internal stakeholders from commercial, R&D, marketing, and sales. Execute on the tactical plans in the region. Manage the current P&L for the North America and deliver on the budget. Identify upsides/downsides to the plan, manage risks and communicate in a timely manner. Maintain subject matter expertise on crop nutrition and plant health business in North America, competitive trends in the region and early identification of new trends for new opportunities. Develop partnerships with product development, field sales and technical services teams, and strategic accounts managers to execute on commercial plan. Partner with key distribution channel partners, working with regional leadership and sales managers to develop relationships and to promote and sell current and future product portfolio. Identify key technology providers and innovators in the North America market and provide guidance on what could be a valuable acquisition and/or collaboration opportunity for FMC on an ongoing basis. Set up regional trials which could include but are not limited to trials with channel partners. Evaluate need for additional headcount in the US and hire regional sales and/or technical representatives if the business growth permits. If FMC pursues a collaboration or M&A opportunity on seed treatments, then participate in the development and execution of the plan.

 

Requirements: Requires Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Agriculture or related field of study, and 10 years of experience in corporate strategy, marketing, sales, competitive intelligence and/or management. Will accept Master’s degree and 7 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor and 10 years of experience. Experience specified must include 5 years of experience working with executive level leaders at a multinational organization in agriculture and reporting business performance; 3 years of experience leading cross-functional commercial teams in North America (U.S and Canada); and 3 years of experience analyzing competitive market intelligence in agriculture segment in North America (U.S. and Canada) and reporting business critical information to management. Experience specified must also include 1 year of experience with each of the following: Working in a global marketing role on a global team influencing regional execution of business plans and tracking KPIs and financial and business performance; developing overall growth strategy for a crop protection business segment of approx. $100 Million revenue for North America (U.S. and Canada); updating product concepts detailing strategies for pre-mixes and other novel formulations for crop protection chemistries used in North America agriculture; managing the Profit and Sharing (P&L) of a business segment; working closely in coordination with supply chain and manufacturing, regulatory and legal team. Telecommuting permitted up to 2 days a week. Requires up to 40% domestic travel.
