FMC Corporation has an opening for a Transfer Pricing Senior Analyst to assist with driving global transfer pricing planning, execution, reporting, and controversy management. The Transfer Pricing Senior Analyst will be a member of FMC’s global transfer pricing group and work on all transfer pricing matters at FMC.  The ideal candidate must be comfortable partnering with business operations within the organization to develop and promote the implementation of a cross-functional transfer pricing operating model that facilitates streamlined business operations, optimizes tax efficiency, and adequately mitigates risk. Therefore, the position requires the ability to understand business operations with the ability to integrate complex tax concepts within appropriate frameworks.

 

Accordingly, the Transfer Pricing Senior Analyst will liaise with regional and business unit professionals to acquire necessary data to perform certain analyses as well as advise and collaborate effectively with applicable key stakeholders within the Global Tax function as well as Corporate Finance, Accounting, and other relevant business functions.

 

The role will be responsible for assisting with documenting material transfer pricing transactions in reports to be used for local country tax compliance, providing support to monitor non-tangible good intercompany transactions, ad-hoc financial analyses, and maintain documentation for principal operating company governance.   

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Assist with the preparation of contemporaneous transfer pricing reports for all legal entities, such that they comply with the relevant transfer pricing requirements and support positions reliable enough to withstand questioning under audit by taxing authorities
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing country by country submissions
  • Prepare and independently review economic analyses to benchmark the arm’s length nature of global intercompany transactions
  • Involvement with testing on intercompany transactions to determine whether adjustments should be made to transfer prices and ensure such calculations are executed accurately
  • Draft and maintain intercompany agreements to properly document and support transfer prices
  • Develop and maintain excel models to monitor intercompany service and in-tangible goods transactions
  • Evaluate and monitor the arm’s-length nature of intercompany financial transactions
  • Plan and monitor transfer pricing strategy for recently commercialized products
  • Identify and communicate issues that may surface from business operations with respect to a particular legal entity’s transfer prices and any other continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen FMC’s overall transfer pricing framework
  • Continuously partner with Finance and IT to obtain an understanding of information systems and data collection to independently identify, analyze, determine, and test transfer prices for intercompany transactions
  • Liaise with third party consultants, including advisors and auditors, to provide various information upon request

 

Required Education:

 

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance, or related field

Graduate degree (e.g., MBA, MS, JD) is preferred

 

Qualifications:

 

  • The role requires a broad foundational knowledge of global transfer pricing laws and regulations, an up-to-date knowledge of worldwide legal developments in transfer pricing (i.e., BEPS), and an excellent business acumen with a sound understanding of the transfer pricing implications for a publicly traded, multi-national company
  • The role requires an individual with tax/accounting experience with at least four (4) years working on global transfer pricing matters, preferably experience with a Big 4 or other recognized law/consulting firm
  • Experience in conducting economic analysis and searches to derive internal and external comparables and conduct functional and industry analyses in order to prepare transfer pricing documentation (e.g., OneSource, Royalty Stat, Amadeus, Orbis, ktmine, etc.)
  • The candidate must be detail oriented, have the ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal guidance, and be agile by accepting concurrent tasks within fast paced environment with the ability to deliver results with a high degree of accuracy               
  • Experience with tax software and accounting systems and a proven ability to segment data for transfer pricing purposes
  • Experience with conducting complex financial modeling using Excel
  • Precise written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong project management capabilities with the ability to navigate through a large matrix organization to get things done
  • The selected candidate will have specifically demonstrated, in prior related experience, the ability to understand how to align with team members up and down the organizational hierarchy and possess inherent awareness on when to ask questions and when to provide thought leadership by working independently
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft SharePoint, and Microsoft Word skills
