Distribution Requirements Planner

BASIC FUNCTION: 

The Distribution Requirements Planner is accountable to develop and execute weekly finished product distribution plans over 1 – 6 month horizon at the regional level, may be responsible for multiple countries or sub-regions. This role interfaces closely with Detailed Scheduler and Master Scheduler who are managing the production schedule across 1-2 week and 16 week horizons respectively.  Also, this role interfaces with Demand Planners and Customer Service.

   

SPECIFIC & ESSENTIAL DUTIES: 

Once the feasible Supply Plan has been approved in IBP, 6 months of planned stock transfers are passed to S4. Distribution Requirements Planners:

  • Perform a weekly At-Risk Analysis identifying current and potential backorders
  • Communicate at risk issues and work to execute a recovery plan
  • Convert Planned Requisitions to Stock Transfer Orders
  • Develops and executes weekly finished product distribution plans over 1 – 6 month horizon at the regional level, may be responsible for multiple countries or sub-regions.
  • Coordinate local shipments to customers along with Customer needs and Demand Plan
  • Communicate with Master and Detailed Schedulers to review Demand needs and potential changes
  • May be assigned the following additional duties:
  • Monitor distribution budget, review variability in actual vs forecast
  • Administrates finished product inventory shelf life in warehouses and works closely with Customer Service to deplete close to expire inventory, and with Master Scheduler and Detailed Scheduler for any rework or write-off requirements
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by your manager

 

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Bachelors in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Management or other related degree
  • Advanced Supply Chain or Project Management Certification preferred (CSCP, CPIM, CPM)

 

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 

  • 3+ years of experience in multiple areas that would include time spent in functional supply chain role as well as manufacturing, procurement, finance or another business function in a multi-national environment
  • High level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • ERP experience is required (SAP preferred)
  • Direct experience in a planning role along with advanced planning system experience required
  • Able to periodically review supply restrictions, and facilitate discussion with stakeholders to identify options for improvement
  • Ability to support small scale projects or initiatives
  • Understanding functional supply chain elements is desired, including production operations, material planning and procurement, production planning and scheduling, inventory management, distribution, and customer
  • Demonstrated experience managing work using data and metrics. Owns and utilize KPIs to manage process and drive improvement, including ensuring valid planning metric feedback is delivered every cycle to stakeholders
  • Able to faciliate relevant discussion topics in meetings with appropriate stakeholders, such as manufacturing, procurement and/other planning members
