Accountable for leading the complete life cycle of capital expenditure (Capex) projects (typically 100k to 3 million per project) at the Mobile Manufacturing Site from planning, scoping, scheduling, execution through completion by providing oversight and holding suppliers and contractors accountable for safe work practices, budget and schedule compliance and adherence to site rules and regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manages projects from scope development through construction completion ensuring effective cost and schedule control.
- Prioritizes projects for execution based on business and/or operational needs, available budget and forecasted cash flows.
- Interfaces with Site Engineering and Construction teams to develop effective project execution strategies and define deliverables based on budget and schedule requirements.
- Maintains monthly project metrics (e.g., progress, cost forecasts, etc.) and develops project reporting.
- Leads projects through defined stage-gated capital planning and project development/execution process from project inception and funding authorization to completion.
- Supports other aspects of the capital management process such as Turn Around (TAR) planning/scheduling and adherence to companies’ fixed asset standards.
- Provides leadership during all phases of the capital deployment process for compliance with Environmental, Health and Safety requirements.
Basic Requirements:
B.S. Degree in Engineering or 5+ years’ experience working on capital projects within the heavy industrial industry (e.g., Oil & Gas, Chemical, Power Generation, etc.)
Preferred requirements:
B.S. Degree in Civil, Electrical, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering
3+ years’ experience managing small capital projects for chemical manufacturing
