Responsibilities:

 

 

  • Develop responsive mobile and web applications working closely with other engineers and the product team.
  • Staying abreast of developments in web applications, mobile applications and programming languages.
  • Design and development of backend APIs and use of cloud-based technology.
  • Ensure cross-platform optimization for mobile phones.
  • Work closely with the Product Manager during the development, feedback and testing.
  • Work with the Data Engineering team to ensure secure, scalable and responsive mobile applications.
  • Manage the mobile application publication process to the respective App stores.
  • Committed to developing a world class app dev (dev/ops) environment
  • Maintain the production applications, utilizing a standard dev/qa/production pipeline
  • Lead and participate in application development discussions, recommend design choices and execute projects balancing strategic and tactical goals
  • Collaborate and foster cross-functional relationships with data scientists, data engineer and business stakeholders to understand data needs and build reliable applications
  • Analyze, design and program software enhancements for new data streams with a goal of developing technical solutions and systems to help mitigate privacy vulnerabilities and prevent potential future privacy risks.
  • Mentor a team of application engineers and help accelerate data driven culture

 

Responsible for maintenance and creation of external mobile and web applications, utilizing a Microsoft Azure set of services.   Must be able to analyze business requirements to coordinate the development and maintenance of applications.  Must be able to coordinate internal and external resources to diagnose and resolve problems within FMC’s precision agriculture applications.  Must be able to operate comfortably in both technical and business process situations and collaborate with CTO on project prioritization.  Must demonstrate ability to resolve issues quickly and creatively.  Must exhibit a strong desire to increase technical knowledge and experience.  Must be able to quickly learn and support new technologies.

 

 

 

 

Required Education:

 

BS Degree, preferably in a technical discipline or the relevant functional discipline (Computer Science, Engineering or Mathematics) and/or equivalent years of business experience.

  • Good understanding of data privacy, GDPR and best practices around data encryption
  • Prior experience of mobile and/or web application development and distribution

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 5+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field, MS preferred
  • 3+ years of experience as a full stack experience working with mobile applications, API, and databases.
  • Must have working knowledge of React Native and related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate client needs into technical requirements, consider alternatives, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Rapid prototyping experience in the following languages/frameworks: CSS, React Native, Python, Angular, Django, JavaScript, and SQL.
  • Experience working in Agile development.
  • 2+ years of experience working with at least one of the following cloud providers: AWS, Azure or Google cloud
  • Hands on experience executing tests and promoting code via robust CI/CD processes (Jenkins, GitHub actions)
  • Experience in writing automated test cases using tools such as PyTest or Jest
  • Demonstrated ability to work on all phases of SDLC, application systems analysis and programming activities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in person.
