Business/Function Overview:


As the Business Development Senior Manager for US Crop you will be reporting into the Business Development Director for US Crop. & GSS. Your role is focused on growing the US Crop Business Development Portfolio with our existing and potential new customer base and your efforts will be focused on a 0-5-year outlook. At a high level your role will be divided in two categories: Existing Business and Business Development. On a day to day basis your role will require you to support and maintain the existing business which includes but is not limited to: contract renewals/amendments, pricing updates, forecast retrieval, coordination with the Supply Chain Organization on Demand Planning, alignment with Finance on budgets and forecasts etc. Associated to Business Development your role will require you to create new opportunities with existing customers, identify new customers, defend against competitors in the market. The success of these aspects will be highly dependent on the development of a 0-5-year strategy which you will be responsible for designing and executing. All aspects of your role will require you to work closely and deeply with the US Crop. Marketing team, Our Strategic Account Executives who manage our key customer relationships, Operations and Supply Chain, Legal, and Global Marketing. To be successful in this role you will need to travel on a regular as needed basis.



1. Maintain and Support Existing Business Portfolio

  • Customer Engagement – ensure high customer satisfaction, remain in close contact with all customers, understand their business and any new or potential issues we can support them on. Keep them posted on potential FMC related supply concerns or issue.
  • Agreement Maintenance – proactive management of contract renewals with customers and amendments were necessary to improve agreements. Contract termination where agreements are no longer relevant.  
  • Pricing Management – understand COGs and profitability position by agreement. Develop annual process to manage pricing updates and associated communications to customers
  • Demand Planning – algin with customers on forecast, ensure POs are submitted timely and accurately, meet with Supply Chain organization monthly to ensure correct updates in Demand Plan  
  • Finance Alignment – ensure close alignment with Finance organization to ensure forecasts are accurate and risks and upsides communicate

2. Business Development

  • Strategy Development – Responsible for the creation of a thoughtful 0-5-year growth strategy. With sign off required from the North America Leadership Team. Requires strong alignment with US Marketing, Global Marketing, and our Strategic Account Executives. Strategy must also center on thoughtful defense of our portfolio.
  • Strategy Execution – develop execution strategy, associated timelines and begin to implement as quickly as possible. Must bring internal stakeholders along.


Required Education

  • MBA Preferred



  • 10+ years of experience in US Crop related Sales, Procurement or Marketing
