Role Overview:

Based in Philadelphia, PA, the Sourcing Manager, Operations and Capex NA will report into the Global Category Manager. As the Sourcing Manager, you will work within FMC’s Global Procurement Group as a key member of the Plant Operations and CapEx team, responsible for the procurement of site services and capital expenditure for FMC’s active ingredients and formulation sites in the North American region. You will be responsible for performing category management activities including, but not limited to, category strategy development, strategic sourcing, stakeholder management, supplier performance management, and continuous cost and performance improvement. As the ideal candidate you will enjoy working in a fast-paced environment along with other bright and motivated individuals.


Key Responsibilities:

We are seeking a candidate that can hit the ground running and make a visible impact within a short period of time. You can anticipate the following key responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with functional leads to build subcategory strategies, within Operation and CapEx, based on a thorough understanding of FMC’s business conditions
  • Conduct cost-analysis activities in partnership with finance and the business to identify savings opportunities against management targets
  • Identify, contract, and manage strategic relationship for operations and capital expenditure
  • Manage seamless business partnerships with the manufacturing, supply chain and manufacturing technology functions 
  • Develop and execute subcategory sourcing strategies (e.g. RFI, RFP, RFQ, scorecard and bid analysis, etc.)
  • Negotiate supplier contracts utilizing FMC contract templates & procedures
  • Manage timely and cost-effective resolution of contractual variations with stakeholders and suppliers
  • Integrate best practices and modernized business processes across FMC, ensuring best use of tools, techniques and processes
  • Collaborate with FMC’s Global Procurement Group’s Center of Excellence (CoE) team

You are confident in initiating action and dare challenge existing procedures to achieve business value. Moreover, you:

  • Bring 5+ years of professional experience within sourcing, including a solid commercial mindset and proven experience within tendering services with increased visible added value
  • Bring experience with negotiating and contracting complex services and contract management in the post-signing phase
  • Possess project management and change management skills
  • Have experience running tenders (RFx), preferably using e-tools like Ariba or similar
  • Outstanding communication skills

You should expect to travel approximately 20-30 days a year, primarily across Americas, to visit local teams and suppliers for change management and training purposes
