Business/Function Overview: 

 

Responsibility and accountability for the different phases of operational marketing and technology platforms. This role is key to identifying, communicating, and stewarding positive, measurable attributes of our product portfolio for each crop market by providing guidance and learning via training, collateral support and new product launches. In addition the position will lead products, crop segments, and regional planning processes for assigned 3RIVE system & products,  PrecisionPac system & products as well as active development projects, supplying agreed-upon deliverables, e.g. product marketing plans, technology adoption and growth strategies and crop segment strategies aligning to regional asset management plans.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work with Commercial, Product Management & Marketing Communications to define and execute a winning annual marketing and product launch plans by evaluating strategic growth opportunities, recommending the path forward and providing the commercial team with implementation plans and coordination necessary to execute
  • Implement strategies and tactics relevant to customer targets, based on regional needs
    • Lead the market segment planning process assessing the attractiveness of growth opportunities, new markets & product potential, and business strategies
    • Evaluation design & track the effectiveness/profitability of channel strategies and the activities associated with the implementation – i.e. Marketing programs, promotions, distributor selection and programs
    • Identify new markets and growth strategies
    • Lead planning to achieve annual budget objectives for assigned products in tandem with management, development , technical service, sales, communications, and customer service
  • Maintain and communicate product launch plans and track the deliverables, milestones, risks and dependencies from the cross functional launch team.
  • Assist in the development of sales tools and collaterals that support the selling process of our products & services
  • Collect on the ground market and competitive intelligence via direct-to-grower technology access models
  • Develop and implement Precision platforms strategy
    • Identify new markets and growth strategies for North and Latin America
    • Lead mechanical and digital innovation strategies to improve technologies to serve regional market needs and crops in the Americas
    • Strategic alignment with portfolio managers and long range active ingredient strategies in the Americas
    • Develop and implement long term capital investment strategies
  • Utilize Promotion and Advertising budgets based on strategic priorities
  • Provide input for sales forecast, pricing, discounts, and expense management
  • People Management
    • Line management of direct reports
    • Ensure Professional Development Plans are in place for team
    • Ensure aligned objectives and regular feedback for each team member
  • Oversee annual marketing and sales implementation, contributing as a member of the team in accomplishing Sales, POS, EBIT, and risk management objectives for assigned products.
  • Provide Sales and Finance functions with direction and guidance on administration of all marketing programs for assigned products, ensuring adequate review process prior to implementation.
  • Generate new business for FMC North America by working with affiliated industries / competitors / suppliers / customers / vendors / etc.

 

 

Required Education: 

  • BS Agriculture, Business, or related field

 

Qualifications

 

  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in marketing & marketing management
  • Experience developing long term business and market strategies
  • Experience in evaluation and return on investment analysis for development projects
  • Excellent leadership skills and effective people development and talent management
  • Demonstrated understanding of value marketing/selling and generic defense strategies
  • Experience working to develop innovative strategies, products, and concepts
  • Financial and analytical skills, which include NPV analysis, break-even analysis and income statement development and analysis
  • Ability to lead in a matrix organization and extract value from such a structure
  • Excellent communications skills and expertise developing and presenting ideas
