Wyoming is one of two formulation plants for FMC Agriculture Solutions in the US and play a key role in supporting the business growth. 

 

This role manages key activities that support production and material management operations at the Wyoming, IL site including: Support for development and execution of the production schedule, production troubleshooting, production and process efficiency improvement efforts, capital project development and execution. In addition, the production services manager will have responsibility for plant inventory, scheduling and execution of inbound and outbound deliveries, and management of warehouse operations and personnel.

 

The Production Services Manager will report to the plant manager, but will actively support the site operations manager and production team.

 

Responsibilities:

  • EHS:
    • Be a consistent champion for all plant environmental, health, and safety policies, and improvement efforts. Lead toolbox meetings, and safety training as needed.
    • Participate in, and lead site housekeeping improvement efforts, including supporting 5S implementation throughout the site.
    • Initiate MOC’s and/or QAR’s as required. 
  • OPERATIONS:
    • Identify and execute productivity improvement projects to increase production efficiency, drive plant growth and reduce cost. Write and manage AFE’s for projects as needed.
    • Support overall execution of weekly production schedules. Lead team of materials handlers and logistics coordinator to lead the execution of inbound and outbound deliveries.
    • Work closely, and communicate frequently with site staff (process engineer, operations manager, maintenance manager, supervisors) to help in execution of new process / new product introductions.-
    • Provide support for production schedule planning, including recommendations for schedule improvements to drive efficiency and rate improvement.
    • Serve as a backup for entering SAP production data, and daily production records as needed.
  • MATERIALS / WAREHOUSE:
    • Implement standards for inventory control, inventory accuracy, and inventory management.  Coordinate the cycle count program and reconciliation process. Monitor blocked and restricted stock as well as slow moving/obsolete inventory and help develop plans for final disposition.
    • Manage shipping and receiving processes, including complying with carrier selection guidelines, ensuring completion of required SAP transactions, and compliance with haz-materials and DOT regulations.
    • Oversee warehouse operations, including development and implementation of material put-away strategies, management of off-site material storage, and control of strategic material stocks.
    • Ensure production data entry procedures align with inventory control needs.
    • Lead annual physical inventory count and reconciliations (quantity and lot numbers) for plant warehouses.  This includes root cause analysis and corrective actions.
    • Own and maintain daily updates to materials / warehouse KPIs, as well as weekly/monthly reporting requirements.
    • Manage team of salaried reports, as well as team of hourly warehouse operators and associated site support personnel.
    • Participate on the site leadership team, attending required plant leadership meetings and events.
    • Follow up with vendors regarding the status of incoming orders and communicate to affected parties.
    • Ensure raw materials and packaging for the site are ordered in time to meet the production schedule, and escalate any concerns that arise.
    • Follow up on any shipping and receiving transactional discrepancies and ensure that they are resolved in a timely fashion.
    • Review volume variance and forecasts and advise on any material concerns that could prevent the site from completing.

 

Education and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, or related function preferred.  Will consider Associate Degree with Manufacturing related experience. 
  • 3-7 years in supply chain, production scheduling, and planning in a chemical manufacturing environment
  • Experience in SAP at an in-depth level as it relates to MRP, inventory, and production scheduling
