Position Summary: 

FMC Corporation is looking for motivated and detail-oriented summer interns to join our research station teams during 2025! FMC’s internship program provides each student with hands – on experience, development opportunities, as well as the opportunity to connect with other students from various universities.

 

Internship duration typically lasts throughout the summer (Late April through August) and based out at our research stations in Canada: Hanley, SK and Wetaskiwin, AB.

  

What you will do:  

The summer research technician intern position is an exciting opportunity for exposure into crop production and crop protection. You will be able to assist in the development of unregistered infant active ingredients as well as further developing currently commercialized products. Studies that you will be involved with include, rate determination, formulation evaluation, tank mix partners, efficacy, crop safety s, plant back studies.

 

Interns will work alongside an experienced research development rep. initially, but greater independence is possible as the season progresses. Intern will also be mentored so that they can perform field operations such as seeding, spraying, mowing, applying crop protection products and possibly harvest as the season permits. In addition to the field operations, the position tasks will include tasks such as conducting evaluations, measuring out crop protection products prior to applications and data entry. Students will be encouraged to aid in all aspects of field trials once trained and comfortable with tasks.

 

What You Need to Succeed

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to carry a 20 to 50 lb. backpack on uneven ground
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English.
  • Enrolled in a School of Agricultural, Plant Sciences, or similar educational discipline. 
  • Candidates must have completed the first year of post-secondary school.
  • Experience handling farm equipment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products: Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word
