Business/Function Overview:

As an important member of the Product Registration Team at FMC, the Product Registration Specialist assists with registration tasks that contribute to the overall success of Canadian business.  The individual will work closely with the Product Registration Managers, as well as other teams such as Product Development and Marketing, to develop regulatory data, product labels, and other documentation required for successful regulatory outcomes.  The Product Registration Specialist will also be responsible for administrative tasks and managing multiple databases and information management systems. The Product Registration Specialist will report directly to the Manager, Product Registration.

 

Job Overview and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Product Registration Tasks
    • Work closely with Product Registration Managers to prepare high quality submissions to the Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA)
      • Coordinate the development of data, labels, and other documents for regulatory submissions.
      • Build and maintain strong working relationships with PMRA reviewers to enable successful regulatory outcomes.
    • Have a strong knowledge of the Pest Control Product Act and its ongoing implementation by PMRA.
    • With guidance from Product Registration Managers, ensure compliance with all applicable federal and provincial pesticide laws and regulations pertaining to the use of products in Canada.
  • Data Management and Communication
    • Administer and manage regulatory records and databases and contribute to enhancements to information management. 
      • Contribute to and leads process improvements.
    • Function as the focal point for managing the team’s administrative needs including document filing, meeting arrangements, and invoice payments.         
    • Work in a safe manner and support a safe working environment and security measures in word and in practice.

 

Minimum Requirements: 

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical/scientific field relevant to pesticide regulation, or Bachelor’s degree and relevant work experience is preferred.

 

Qualifications: 

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a highly regulated sector of the chemical industry, preferably agricultural chemicals is preferred.
  • Technical/scientific background in a discipline relevant to the regulation of pesticides or biologicals
  • Computer and Data Skills
    • Experience with information database administration.
    • Proficiency in MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills in English, bilingual skills are a plus.

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to independently manage time and priorities. Ability to get results by delivering on commitments, both independently and through sound interpersonal skills, teamwork, and collaboration.
    • Ability to communicate to a wide variety of internal and external audiences in a way that promotes understanding and builds relationships.
    • Ability to travel 20% of time.
