Position Overview

The incumbent will be responsible for all levels of technical support for network and security related issues, daily maintenance and monitoring of the corporate network, security hardware and software systems. It includes diagnosis and troubleshooting of network connectivity problems, escalation and follow through to ensure issues are resolved. Also will assist in the evaluation, testing, and selection of manual and/or automated security control solutions that promote the safeguarding of company assets. 

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement and administrate Network and Security solutions across a global enterprise.
  • Ensure a stable and secure network environment.
  • Continually maintain appropriate levels of network security.
  • Contribute to the management, implementation and maintenance of network and security infrastructure systems. Including but not limited to: Routers and switches; Firewall Administration and Operations; Remote Access Solutions; SD-WAN; 802.1x and wireless technologies; VOIP.
  • Investigate network and security anomalies as needed.
  • Assist Infrastructure/Security teams in solution deployments.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvements and sponsors projects to management.
  • Provide technical support and 2nd level services in the areas of network and telephony infrastructure to IT staff both local and globally.
  • Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as firewalls, load balancers, routers, Layer 2/3 switches, wireless controllers, and access points.
  • Conceptual knowledge of emerging network, telephony and server optimization and management technologies.
  • Integrate, implement, and document new technologies while supporting and maintaining the existing core infrastructure.
  • Develops and manages significant project tasks according to corporate IT standard methodology.

 

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in enterprise networks, security, and operating systems.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with HPE Networking, BIG IP F5, Fortinet, Zscaler, Microsoft, Cisco, Riverbed, VeloCloud and UCaaS technologies focused on large scale enterprise deployments.
  • Strong background in networking.  Must have working experience with some, or all of the following protocols: BGP, OSPF, 802.1Q, STP, Ethernet, IP, TCP, UDP, and SNMP.
  • Strong knowledge of L2 and L3 LAN/WAN routing and switching technologies; infrastructure services including wireless networking and firewall administration.
  • Functional knowledge in SD-WAN and Cloud networking technologies and management.
  • Knowledge of WAN and LAN concepts, network security, network optimization, performance monitoring, public and private cloud environments, system resiliency, server backup and recovery, workstation connectivity, and Internet connectivity.
  • Work effectively within a cross functional team environment to deliver project tasks and assignments on time and on budget.
  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments with review from management.
  • Experience with Polycom Video Conferencing, VMware and Crestron a plus.
  • Experience with solutions for monitoring network and telephony performance, reliability, and stability.

 

Education

  • BS Computer Science or related discipline
  • Professional Network and/or Security technology certifications preferred.
  • Fluent English
