Overall role and responsibility

The successful candidate will step into our Global Indirect Tax Team working alongside experienced colleagues. Reporting to the Indirect Tax Associate Manager, you will manage the VAT compliance of several entities within the EMEA region.

Main tasks:

 

 

Your main responsibility will be to manage VAT compliance with activities such as, but not limited to, filing VAT returns, Intrastat returns, EC sales/purchase lists, submitting refund claims, performing account reconciliations, carrying out data validation and ensuring timely tax payments. You will keep up to date with VAT regulations in assigned jurisdictions to ensure all filing requirements are met. Helping us achieve results through a high level of financial service, you will build and maintain close relationships with local representatives from your business units. Moreover, you will be encouraged to contribute with initiatives to drive standardisation, process improvements and optimisation across the group. Using your strong understanding of financial standards as well as company policies, SOX and other regulatory requirements, you will:

  • Partner with members of the European Financial Reporting & Accounting Group and Global Tax to ensure full alignment.
  • Promptly respond to information requests from internal and external stakeholders, including auditors
  • Maintain required documentation
  • Actively manage workload and escalate inefficiencies and concerns to the Indirect Tax Associate Manager
  • Achieve deadlines set by leadership and the business and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion
  • Participate in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organisation, achieving identified financial, process and talent goals.

 

 

Qualification/
competences*:

We are looking for an analytical colleague who will have the ability to work in a team environment and has basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel). You will want to actively contribute to our positive culture with a ‘can do’ attitude, and you are always ready to help your team and colleagues. You will be highly motivated to work on your own initiative, have the ability to manage multiple priorities and timelines and raise issues to the Indirect Tax Manager as required. Moreover, you bring great customer management, interpersonal skills, communication and change management skills. In addition:

  • You have a BA or BS degree in finance, accounting or equivalent.
  • You have experience with MS Office and SAP.
  • A tax or accounting background recommended.
  • You have 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience within an indirect tax function of an advisory firm or a multinational corporation preferred.
  • Language(s): English required
