Regional Development Technical Manager

This role can be based out of Germany, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Poland or Turkey.

 

We are looking for an Agricultural engineer/Agronomist to join the team of Regional Development Technical Managers (RTM’s) responsible for management and coordination of field development programs for the FMC portfolio (Herbicide focus). You have a strong weed control knowledge across EMEA countries and robust understanding of field development especially in EU.

 

As Regional Development Technical Manager you are responsible of developing an excellent understanding on the biological features of the products being evaluated, developed, and brought to market. Successful coordination of efficacy and crop safety trial programs is an essential skill.

 

You  will report to one of the Development Team Leads in the EMEA Development organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates Regional field development programs for active ingredients/products assigned under your area of responsibility: creation of biology plan, technical objectives, protocols, field data analysis, summary, and presentation
  • Provide advice on portfolio strategy goals
  • Liaise with country & regional portfolio teams, agronomists, research institutes and influencers ensuring that product concepts and value propositions of development products are based on state-of-the-art understanding of the market.
  • Liaise with regional regulatory and data management teams ensuring the preparation of compelling datasets and summaries for decision making dossier preparation and knowledge transfer.
  • Being able to also develop application technology concepts linked to our portfolio to generate additional value would be a plus.
  • Track and communicate relevant competitors’ technology developments, identify and champion potential opportunities to differentiate FMC’s portfolio and provide value to our customers.

 

Your Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a good biology, plant protection and business acumen; experience in product knowledge transfer to other functions in the organization is a clear plus. Additionally, knowledge and understanding of application technology to improve the delivery of crop protection products would be a plus 

 

Beside in-depth knowledge of applied biology, crop protection and regulatory requirements to register a plant protection product, the successful applicant will have good communication and project management skills combined with good cross-functional interaction skills. Additional, we are looking for someone who:

 

  • Master’s degree in Agricultural (or similar) with min 5 years experiences in an agricultural business, or comparable.
  • Good understanding of EU BAD requirements and experience in BAD generation
  • Willingness to travel frequently within Europe, especially in peak season to ensure field trials visits.
