The EMEA Improvement Engineer position can be based at one of our manufacturing sites located in France (Uffholtz), Germany (Stade), UK (Flintshire), Italy (San Colombano) or at the European Innovation Center (Copenhagen), and reports to the EMEA Formulations and Packaging Technical Center Manager.
Help grow an important strategic sector
Formulation and packaging is a significant and strategic part of FMC’s operations globally. In this role you will use your technical capabilities to make meaningful change for the organization to enable continued business growth and ensure the agility required to meet the demands of a dynamic market.
Working with various levels of onsite and corporate leadership, technology, maintenance, operations, R&D, quality, supply chain, and engineering teams, you will lead strategically, proactively, and purposefully to implement solutions which continually improve our safe, sustainable, and reliable formulation & packaging processes.
Become our technical expert in new product introductions, site transfers and continuous improvement
As the primary technical support of the EMEA Formulation & Packaging network, your primary objective will be to provide expertise to a variety of technical areas including continuous improvement, capital project execution, manufacturing support, sustainability, new product introductions, and overall process improvements while driving the safety culture of the FMC organization in daily activities.
Whilst not an extensive overview, other tasks include, but are not limited to:
• Serve as a role model and champion for EHS excellence and injury free culture
• Support maintenance and/or development of process safety information, as needed
• Assess site capabilities for the ability to manufacture potential new or re-sited products
• Work cooperatively with FMC stakeholders to design safe, efficient commercial manufacturing processes for new products
• Identify capital projects for process improvement, expansion, and cost-savings opportunities
• Lead Third-Party personnel for implementation of capital projects, as needed.
• Develop and execute test protocols to determine the viability of new technology at the Site
A degree in engineering with experience in chemical operations
To thrive in this role, you will have strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical and non-technical information with global internal and external partners. Working knowledge of equipment design, scale-up procedures, troubleshooting, project management skills, and change management experience is an advantage.
Most importantly, we would love to hear from you if you have:
• BS in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a chemical operations preferred
