About Role:

In close partnership with FMC’s Global Accounting COE in Ireland, you will support the monthly US GAAP closing process for FMC Corporation’s Turkey entity, with a focus on non-standard processes and knowledge-centric accounting entries and judgement areas. This individual will be responsible for ensuring FMC Turkey’s local GAAP S4 Hana (SAP) accounting ledger is maintained in line with local statutory and tax rules, as well as the preparation and review of related annual statutory and tax filings. This will also require this individual to stay up to date with compliance changes, as well as implementation of same where appropriate. This role will require consistent collaboration with FMC’s centers of excellence in Ireland and Geneva. 

Using your strong understanding of financial standards as well as company policies and other regulatory requirements, your main responsibilities will be, 

 

System and Process Responsibilities

  • Partner with FMC's Accounting COE in Ireland, support FMC Turkey's US GAAP closing process, ensuring the reported numbers are complete and accurate
  • Oversee revenue recognition related processes for FMC Turkey, such as revenue recognition, rebate accrual reviews, product returns reserves, bad debt reserve among others
  • Ensure OPEX is properly accrued for each quarter
  • Preparation and submission of statutory financial statements based on local laws under local GAAP principles and corporate tax returns based on local requirements - engaging with 3rd party providers where necessary
  • Ensure FMC’s Turkey local GAAP ledger/books are compliant with local tax and accounting requirements – ensuring a clear reconciliation is maintained between US and local ledger results
  • Preparation of statistical reports, including annual treasury reports
  • Lead the local statutory external audit process
  • Support tax audits, as needed, closely collaborating with various SSC/COE centers in line with corporate guidelines
  • Support FMC’s quarterly US GAAP income tax provisioning process
  • Supporting other ad hoc statutory/tax filings and payments
  • Maintain relationships with all 3rd party service providers
  • Participate in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organization, achieving identified goals (financial, process or talent)
  • Research and communicate upcoming regulatory/accounting and tax changes to central teams and support implementation of same
  • Support preparation of monthly accounting accruals, business partnering with FP&A
  • Support treasury cash forecast for FMC Turkey
  • Prepared Pool 2 forecast for FMC Turkey
  • Promptly respond to information requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Comply with Global Accounting COE and business unit service delivery guidelines

People Responsibilities

  • Actively manage workload and escalate inefficiencies and concerns to the Regional COE Manager
  • Achieve deadlines set by leadership and the business and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion
  • Assist with the creation and modification of training programs and content (as needed)
  • Function as a member of a team, demonstrating effective business partnering

 

Your Qualificitaions:
Functional/technical competences (incl. education)

  • Professional locally recognized accountancy qualification
  • Extensive experience with Turkey GAAP and local tax rules and regulations
  • Experience with US GAAP
  • MS-Office (advanced user of Excel), SAP experience

 Personal competences

  • Fluent Turkish and English is required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience working within matrix organization
