Overview

This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machinery.

 

Job Responsibilities

•    Install facility machinery.
•    Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on facility machinery.
•    Troubleshoot and repair facility machinery.

      Write and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
•    Complete daily maintenance and repair logs.
•    Communicate with operators from other shifts.
•    Maintain and secure work tools.
•    Clean and maintain work area.
•    Other duties as assigned.

 

Safety/Health

Maintenance Mechanics are required to work safely, follow all safety rules and procedures, attend all safety meetings, report unsafe conditions to Leaders at once, and keep all tools and equipment in safe working condition. They will also be encouraged to read and ask questions about safety materials such as Safety Data Sheets (SDS), Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Job Safety Information (JSI), and know where to find them. Additionally, Mechanics will need to maintain clean and orderly work areas and offer suggestions and seek answers concerning safety issues.

 

Work Environment

Working conditions are normal for a chemical manufacturing environment.  Candidate must be comfortable working around chemicals such as Herbicides and Insecticides. Work involves stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching overhead, and lifting of materials up to 50 pounds. Will be required to climb ladders and stairs and perform work in and on elevated areas such as roofs and dust collectors. Ability to work outdoors in adverse conditions as necessa1y. Machinery and tool operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; safety goggles, respirators, hearing protection, work boots, and hardhats.

 

Qualifications

  • Journeyman certificate in associated trade required.
  • Advanced skill required in one or more of the following areas: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic systems, plumbing, carpent1y, and piping systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics. 
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds required.
  • Proficient in all aspects of welding preferred
  • Basic skills in operating lathes, mills, presses and brakes.
  • Safely operate all hand tools.
     

Starting pay: $33.91/hour
