Purpose
The purpose of the document is to describe job requirements and expectations. This job description includes expectation for quality and environment, health, safety and other Responsible Care initiates.
General Description:
Assist Operators, Crew Leaders, Lead Operators, Contract formulators, site support services and Material handlers.
Equipment:
Job Related Equipment: Screw conveyor, blenders, storage vessels, pumps, mills, fork trucks,
packaging equipment, washing equipment, cleaning utensils, dust houses, filters, sealers, scales,
invert-a-bins, manual and power operated overhead lifting devices, and many others.
Safety Equipment: Respirators, gloves, coveralls, hard hats, barrier suits, aprons, goggles, etc.

Responsibilities:
Production:
- Operate equipment involved in the packaging of finished products.
- Obtain and/or make up containers, clean, label, fill, seal, palletize, and stretch-wrap according to established procedures.
- Complete all necessary paperwork.
- Shovel snow from building entrances, roofs, from around railroad switches and firehouses.
- Clean plant areas as instructed by supervision.
- Assist Crew Leaders, Lead Operators, Operators, Contract Formulators, Site Support Services and Material Handlers in the startup and shutdown of production operations and report any problems and downtime to supervisor.
- Packers work inside and outside the plant Production, Stores and Warehouse buildings. Other work locations include railcars and trailer trucks and their respective loading and unloading stations.
- Packers will sometimes be required to climb ladders and stairs and perform work in and on elevated areas such as roofs and dust collectors.
- Some areas will be noisy and may include various inclement temperatures and weather conditions. Stooping, bending and heavy lifting are involved in all areas.
- Duties performed in operating areas will be required working with toxic and hazardous chemicals around moving machinery.

- Report any conditions, no matter how minor, that could damage the environmental controls and perform job duties in a manner that will minimize waste.
Education
High school diploma required or equivalent
Starting pay: $20.13/hour
