This role will develop a thorough understanding of Asia Pacific (AP) Formulation production (internal and external) constraints and capacity. This role will use that understanding to develop, maintain, and adjust a valid 5-24 months supply plan for the region in monthly buckets as part of the monthly S&OP process.  A key objective is to deliver through a team of supply planners an achievable supply plan as the plan rolls into the month 0-4 window. The incumbent will identify opportunities and risk mitigation activities through what-if scenario planning and drive those solutions through the S&OP process. The role also interfaces with End to End Supply Chain Managers who focus on supply chain strategy across the 2-5 years horizon.

 

Major Responsibilities

 

  • Reviews and upgrades the Demand/Supply Balanced Plan generated by the IBP Supply Solver
  • Uses scenarios to evaluate alternate supply solutions as the planners develop a feasible procurement, production and materials distribution plan
  • Manages gaps in the plan by identifying options not accounted for by the system and makes trade-off decisions to be presented within the S&OP process (e.g., expedited delivery, additional labor)
  • Develops regional formulations and packaging Supply Plan for the 5-24 months horizon in monthly buckets
  • Ensures the supply configuration is sustainable, efficient, and cost-effective considering demand patterns and MTO vs. MTS requirements
  • Leads the analysis and scenario planning to identify potential gaps and opportunities and drives resolution on any open/anticipated supply issues
  • Develops and submits inventory forecast for the region. Manages and controls SMI/Near Expiry inventory.
  • Works closely with other stakeholders (Planning, Operations, Commercial, Procurement, Finance} to ensure all special, annual and regional programs including new products are communicated and planned for.
  • Leads Regional Supply Reviews and ensures relevant issues are raised at the meeting and any follow-up actions or decisions are communicated back to the organization
  • Responsible for the overall accuracy of Planning Master Data through regular audits and for completing new products configurations in the tool.
  • Ensure supply planners and master schedulers receive required support (process/system) and training to work as per designed process
  • Leads and represents the region in Global Supply Review (GSR) & provide support in allocation decisions.
  • Works closely with other stakeholders including End to End supply chain managers to support long-term strategic initiatives.

 

Experience and Skills

  • 10+ years’ experience in Manufacturing, Supply Chain and/or Materials management, including at least two years of planning (preferably Master Scheduling and/or Supply Planning)
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and coordinate workflow and outputs efficiently across multiple groups and geographies.
  • Excellent communication skills to create effective interactions with multiple functional groups and levels of the organization.  Includes the ability to present and sell ideas, plans and recommendations through strong personal influence building skills that lead to consensus decisions and plans.
  • Experience in managing work using data and metrics; owns and utilizes KPIs to manage process and drive improvement, including ensuring valid planning metric feedback is delivered every cycle to stakeholders.
  • Result driven and self-starter.
  • Strong SAP/Excel knowledge and rich experience in advance planning tool
  • Knowledge of formulations technology and manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Excellent command in English.

Education

  • BA/BS in business, logistics, supply chain or engineering
  • APICS CPIM/CSCP certified preferred
