Overview

FMC seeks a chemical engineer to join the R&D staff to support the commercial launch of novel crop protection chemicals and advance innovative best in class scale-up and manufacturing technologies. The selected candidate will support development of the formulation process technology, including development of the technology transfer package, and transfer the technology for new products to manufacturing sites worldwide. In addition, the selected candidate may oversee laboratory and pilot scale technology projects which will support the basic design of commercial equipment. The role will require up to 15% travel.

   

Responsibilities

  • Support manufacturing sites to gain deeper knowledge of process operations
  • Scale up of unit operations
  • Hands on development and operation of on-line, in-line, at-line process analyzers
  • Self-starter who can execute tasks within agreed upon timelines
  • Planning and organizing activities and tasks within assigned responsibilities
  • Demonstrate an ability to apply data-based decision making
  • Work closely with and influence key stakeholders (Technology Center, Manufacturing, Regulatory) to complete projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective oral and written communication skills
  • Partner in the development of engineers in the organization

 

Required Education

  • BS Chemical Engineering; Degree from an accredited program or university with a minimum of 3 years’ experience
  • MS Chemical Engineering; Degree from an accredited program or university with a minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • PhD Chemical Engineering; Degree from an accredited program or university

 

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work across internal functions
  • Strong background in chemical engineering
  • Strong computing skills
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and DOE is preferred
