Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 5 years of experience in boiler operations, with a strong understanding of boiler systems, maintenance, and safety protocols. This role requires excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and maintain boiler systems to ensure efficient and safe operations.
  • Monitor boiler performance and conduct regular inspections and maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to boiler operations.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of boiler operations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other engineers and maintenance staff to optimize boiler performance.
  • Implement and follow standard operating procedures for boiler operations.
  • Provide training and support to junior staff as needed.
  • Operate and maintain utility systems including chillers, air compressors, and nitrogen generating plants.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • BOE certificate is must.
  • 3-5 years of experience in boiler operations or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of boiler systems, maintenance, and safety protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in operating and maintaining various types of boilers (e.g., water-tube, fire-tube, electric, and gas-fired boilers).
  • Experience with boiler control systems and instrumentation.
  • Knowledge of boiler water treatment processes and chemicals.
  • Familiarity with boiler safety devices and emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Understanding of thermodynamics and heat transfer principles.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting boiler issues.
  • Experience in operating and maintaining utility systems such as chillers, air compressors, and nitrogen generating plants.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification as a Boiler Operation Engineer (BOE) is must.
  • Experience with briquette fired boiler will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of SAP PM and MM module will be an added advantage.
  • Familiarity with Indian Boiler Act / Pressure vessel rules etc.
