Job Title: Operations Finance Lead

Location: Panoli Manufacturing Site

 

Overview:

 

The primary purpose of this position is to provide Operations Finance support to our Panoli manufacturing plant. The support will include reviewing operating budgets, monthly forecasts, preparation of standard costs, financial modeling, capital expenditure analysis, and routine variance analysis.

 

As the Finance Lead, this role will be the primary finance contact for the site and will partner with the Plant Manager to oversee the plant operations. This position will report directly to the Global AI Manager and will collaborate with key stakeholders in the Operations, Supply Chain organization, as well as corporate functions like Controllership, Internal Controls, Tax and Treasury.


Responsibilities:

  • Act as key Operations Finance point of contact
  • Foster a strong business partner relationship and good communication with Operations Management at the site
  • Develop operating budget and lead the standard cost setting process at site level
  • Monitor and report financial performance, understand and explain root causes cause of variances -vs- budget and forecast, work proactively to institutionalize improvements and remedy unfavorable performance
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages as well as prepare presentations for budgets and forecasts
  • Provide insight into strategic decisions to drive cost efficiencies and optimize resource allocation
  • Seek opportunities to improve the analysis of monthly financial and operational results
  • Provide business data and analysis to Global Operations Management Team
  • Collaborate with Procurement team to review and validate raw material purchase prices
  • Monitor performance against SLAs and escalate identified issues (as needed)
  • Support new project cost and economics analysis = NPV, IRR and Payback
  • Support SOX and internal audit as needed
  • Support Operations Finance close activities (e.g., reserve/obsolete inventory capital projects, physical inventory counts)
  • Identify and drive reporting and process improvements/automation

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance/business
  • MBA or Chartered Accountant preferred

 

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 10 to 15 years of diversified experience in financial planning and analysis, product costing, and/or operations finance, within manufacturing (preferably the chemicals industry)
  • Strong financial acumen and analytics skills. Being able provide in-depth explanation of results, synthesize data to identify key business drivers and assess the quality of inputs, generate insightful outputs
  • Experience with all aspects of financial reporting cycle including development of annual business plan / budget, financial projections / recurring forecasts and operations cost management required
  • Standard costing experience (preferred)
  • Above average ERP (SAP preferred), Excel and BI and analytics tools experience required
  • Experience working in a multi-national corporation with accompanying understanding of foreign currency impact and modeling
  • Demonstrated ability or aptitude for computer systems, database management and data assimilation
  • Proficient in English language
