Compensation Manager, North America

 

The Role

 

This Compensation role will be responsible for oversight of the FMC’s North America compensation and support global compensation administration.  Ensures processes between FMC’s locations, vendors and payroll meet service delivery standards, internal operating procedures, and compliance with regulatory authorities while addressing all inquiries from managers and employees on programs in partnership with HR Business Partners and HR Operations.

 

Here’s What You’ll Do

 

  • Oversees the day-to-day activities for FMC's compensation plans for North America. Identifies and resolves any process deviations while supporting innovative solutions for business needs.
  • Partners closely with HR Operations and HR Business Partners to resolve any manager requests and service escalations. Collects information, analyzes data, develops course of action, makes sound decisions, and communicate facts and conclusions clearly and concisely.
  • Manages technology solutions for all compensation programs; identify enhancements, barriers, and cross functional impacts in working with HR Operations and HRIT to implement identified improvements.
  • Monitor competitive trends in compensation and identifying the organization's position compared to other employers. Provide input to the design of programs and drive implementation of salary structures, variable pay, and other pay programs aligned to business performance and strategy.
  • Act as the primary contact for salary surveys. Evaluate and recommend appropriate sources for local market and specific functional surveys and studies.
  • Assure proper evaluation of jobs, up through executive levels, applying the established benchmark/evaluation model and market pricing techniques. Assist with executive compensation and sales compensation programs as a member of the corporate total rewards team.
  • Participates in the Annual Compensation Process, including system updates, testing, and manager communications.
  • Monitor and ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local employment regulations.

 

Here’s What You’ll Need (Minimum Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in compensation.

 

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Experience with fixed and variable compensation plans in a multi-country environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to nuance communications for different audiences.
  • Experience partnering with HR business partners, COEs and/or third-party vendors supporting HR services to drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Proven experience with advanced level Excel and PowerPoint to influence decision-making and provide compelling story telling.
  • Experience with cutting-edge SAP SuccessFactors (or equivalent e.g., Workday). Experience with HR services enabling technologies such as ServiceNow is a plus.
