The global R&D IT team supports a portfolio of custom and packaged applications that enable every step of the R&D process from screening to commercialization. This role will be located at our office in Stine Research Center, Newark, Delaware.

Job Overview and Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead development of architecture strategy, target architecture, and roadmap -- inclusive of business process, information, applications, and technologies needed to enable the future state and solutions, operations and management.
  • Analyze the current solutions portfolio for gaps and new possibilities and propose solutions for improvement.
  • Proactively identify and drive opportunities to converge to mainstream, retire legacy, and evaluate/introduce emerging capabilities to achieve program objectives and deliver business value, while reducing complexity and total cost of ownership.
  • Enterprise analysis activities – major contributor in IT project review and prioritization process – providing key insight to possible solutions, downstream impacts, risks, and level-of-effort.
  • Staff, guide and monitor development teams to ensure solution meets FMC R&D and IT requirements.
  • Lead the architecture process, document and analyze the current state, govern, and perform life cycle management using FMC architecture processes and tools.
  • Compile complex problems, systems and solutions into clear communication and materials for a variety of audiences and levels across the executive, technical, and business teams.
  • Collaborate and foster cross-functional relationships with R&D scientists, support team and Corporate IT to understand data needs and build reliable applications

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in at least 3 - Java, RStudio, Oracle, PL/SQL,VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, Cloud technologies. Experience in off the shelf solutions such as Microstrategy, Pipeline Pilot and Planisware preferred.
  • Able to quickly learn, assess complex problems and conceptualize solutions to be deployed through technology or process improvements
  • Creative problem-solver who combines analytical skills with technical proficiencies to deliver quality results
  • Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) utilizing Agile methodologies (ie Scrum)
  • Performs well in a fast-paced team environment and manage/drive multiple requests to successful completion in a prompt and professional manner while communicating issue/status to appropriate stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills, both in writing and in person.

Education:

  • College or advanced degrees in Information Technology fields with 6 - 8 years’ relevant experience. Experience in a global R&D organization preferred.
