Responsibilities:

The Precision Agriculture Field Specialist Intern will have the opportunity to work with the region Commercial Team, Precision Ag Market Development Lead, Precision Ag Field Managers, and cross functional teams to deliver on the ground insights as it relates to various pests (weeds, diseases, and insects) by leveraging drone scouting and smart insect traps. The candidate will have the opportunity to share project status and accomplishments directly with growers, customers, and FMC Commercial and Precision Agriculture Leadership.

 

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of strong attention to detail, comfort in a dynamic and fast-paced project environment, a high degree of organization, and a strong passion for the utilization of technology to advance agriculture.

Expectations:

  • Under the direction of the North America Market Development Lead and Regional Precision Agriculture Field Managers the intern will act as the field lead on execution of 2023 Precision Agriculture Projects utilizing drone and/or smart insect trap technology
  • Candidate will ensure targeted pest traps are set up according to project operating model and are monitored according to the agreed upon schedule
  • Candidate will manage crop pest data capture and while ensuring:
    • Quality pest images are captured
    • Key dynamic crop information is recorded
    • Maintenance of project operating models
  • The candidate will review aerial scouting data and align FMC product solutions with problems identified through aerial imagery
  • The candidate will be responsible for the articulation of key success measures to key stakeholders
  • Provide coaching, guidance and assistance to FMC partners’ field staff and scouts on their involvement in project activities
  • The candidate is located near project geographies with willingness for daily travel to complete assigned responsibilities

 

Location: 

Hiring for 2 positions in the following eligible states: Washington and Indiana

 

Required Education:

  • Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or master’s program, in Agronomy, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Crop Management, or Agriculture.

 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant experience involving crop scouting
  • Candidate should have a clean driving record with ability to responsibly operate an FMC provided vehicle
  • Ability to execute a scouting plan and articulate status to various internal and external stakeholders
  • A strong desire to conduct science-based research with the goal of benefiting multiple industry stakeholders
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with data entry
