 Process Chemistry Manager

 

The Process Chemistry Manager at FMC's AI Tolled Technical Centre will lead a team of chemists focused on developing and scaling up processes, transferring technology to partners, and driving continuous improvement projects. The role ensures the implementation of best technology solutions across global tolled manufacturing locations, optimizing process safety, quality, sustainability, and cost efficiency. This position plays a key role in achieving world-class operational performance in FMC's AI manufacturing facilities.

 

What you'll do with us:

 

  • Maintain and update FMC process technologies, including technology transfer packages (TTPs) and conduct periodic audits of manufacturing operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance yields, reduce waste, and increase capacity, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  •  Provide troubleshooting support and resolve manufacturing challenges, including reviewing IPC data deviations and developing chemistry solutions.
  • Oversee technology transfer from lab scale to commercial production, including participation in PSRP, HAZOP, and start-up processes.
  • Lead raw material technical qualification, manage off-spec materials handling, and support raw materials sourcing and qualification as needed.
  •  Ensure process safety by collecting PSI data, implementing Process Safety Management, and overseeing the performance and development of team members.

 

Your qualification & attributes:

 

  • MS+ in Organic Chemistry or Chemical Engineering with 10+ years of experience in process engineering within the chemical manufacturing industry. Experience with multinational companies is preferred.
  • Proven ability to lead teams with minimal direction, showing a strong desire to contribute to business growth and success.
  • Strong capabilities in chemical research, development, process optimization, troubleshooting, and process safety, including Responsible Care principles.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English, with the ability to effectively communicate across functions.
  • Strong project management skills with a proven track record of handling complex tasks efficiently. Willingness to travel frequently, up to 20% of the time.
