About the Role


As a key member of FMC’s commercial organization in APAC, you will be responsible for establishing and enabling the growth strategy in APAC - ‘Blue Sky’, and for driving business transformation to deliver FMC’s Blue Sky objectives.     

More specifically, your responsibilities include:


  • Framing and alignment of performance change: Assess performance change drivers in targeted countries, encompassing both strategic and operational elements, to deliver growth plans and strategic objectives. Engage, debate across key stakeholders to drive alignment.    
  • Execution: Lead, enable, support execution of key initiatives, depending on the situation - work collaboratively with country teams to develop tailored plans for execution. Coach and guide teams where relevant.
  • M&A, alliances: Lead non-organic growth initiatives in APAC e.g. M&A, strategic alliances to deliver FMC growth strategy  
  • Project management: Lead tracking and progress of key deliverables based on agreed governance. Escalate issues with key stakeholders when needed to keep initiatives on track.
  • Change management: Lead change management initiatives to ensure country leaders and teams are fully invested and motivated to drive change.  Support country and sub-regional leaders in explaining and engaging the organization where needed.
  • Interventions, course corrections: Step in with hands-on involvement, where required, to support teams and ensure timely progress of agreed initiatives
  • Capability: Assess organizational capability to deliver FMC growth plan. Involve, as appropriate, in personnel change decisions, recruitments, org structure upgrades.  
  • Stakeholder alignment, cross-functional leadership: Align stakeholders across country, region, global working closely with relevant teams to execute APAC strategy.  
  • Financial performance: Through performance transition initiatives, drive improved financial performance and delivery of P&L objectives.  


About You


The key to success in this position is a strong drive for results and the ability to drive change in targeted businesses in APAC.   


As you will be interacting with a broad network of stakeholders, it is important that you possess strong people and communication skills; and are able to lead and influence cross-functional teams and independent work groups across geographies.


We also expect that you have:


  • Tertiary qualifications in business management, commercials; MBA preferred
  • Experience in crop protection business (at least 10 years) in commercial functions – business head, marketing, sales. Worked at regional, country or global levels with experience in more than one level, ideally with experience in a regional role.   
  • Execution experience in country – e.g. head of a business unit, key commercial function head – marketing head, sales head – involved in developing and executing commercial strategies, managing teams and handling customers.  
  • Experience in change management – leading teams through organizational transformation, major change initiatives 
  • In-depth knowledge of the inter-relatedness of commercial, regulatory, development and supply aspects for crop protection products.
  • Experience with working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
  • Experience in applying financial principles as they relate to country P&L, SGA, commercial feasibility assessment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
