The Accounting Manager will have accountability for several key business unit accounting tasks, overseeing, and managing their completion. This role is responsible for leading the Manila accounting close team and managing the transition of accounting work. The role is also responsible for driving standardization, process improvement and optimization across the group. The Accounting Manager will report to the Cork COE and will also need to maintain relationships with the regional finance teams.  

 

The Accounting manager will be responsible the for the following processes. 

  • Global Cash applications – Local oversight 

  • Global Intercompany accounting and service billing 

  • Global Fixed Assets 

 

System and Process Responsibility 

  • Responsible global fixed asset and intercompany accounting processes, including processing of all transactions in SAP, ensuring operational adherence to close calendar. 

  • Responsible for maintaining the fixed asset register in accordance with US GAAP and local GAAP. 

  • Responsible for global intercompany service billing, collaborating with IT and tax to resolve any system related billing issues. 

  • Responsible for local oversight of the global month end cash applications close process, ensuring operational adherence to close calendar and SOX governance. 

  • Drive strategic continuous improvement initiatives across Cash Apps and RTR. 

  • Partner with Cork SSC teams to improve processes and drive further automation. 

  • Manage internal and external statutory audits in relation to these processes. 

 

Transition  

  • Leading the RTR and Cash applications team in Manila, drive the hiring process and support the team through the transition phase. 

  • Partner with the Project Team and Cork COE to lead the knowledge/process transition planning. 

  • Own the work-instruction repository and ensure regular reviews performed on process documentation / job aids. 

  • Manage the hypercare transition phase, ensuring that the Manila team have fully completed the transition and are managing Fixed Assets, Intercompany and Cash Applications 

  • Maintain and update KPI’s, distributing to key stakeholders. 

  • Drive adherence to agreed SLA’s. 

 

Operational Responsibility 

  • Manage the global US GAAP accounting close for fixed assets, intercompany and cash applications, ensuring operational adherence to close calendar and SOX governance. 

  • Ensure Fixed Asset and Intercompany accounting compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP accounting framework. 

  • Partner with the FMC tax teams, ensuring intercompany transactions comply with transfer pricing guidelines and indirect tax requirements. 

  • Partner closely with the Cork COE accounting and AR team, ensuring consistent and open communication, resulting in an efficient close process. 

  • Drive continuous process improvements and efficiencies, standardization of processes, and review of documentation. 

  • Manage relationships with internal teams, collaborating cross functionally to ensure efficient processes. 

  • Participate in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organization, achieving identified goals (financial, process or talent) 

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local GAAP accounting rules including all SOX controls. 

  • Manage audit compliance ensuring that both internal and external issues are addressed timely. 

  • Partner with the Senior Accounting and AR Managers by providing feedback, metrics and report outs across the three areas of Intercompany, Fixed Assets and Cash Applications. 

 

People Responsibility 

  • Manage a team of 19 including 2 direct reports + dotted line from Cash Aps Team Lead. 

  • Mange the team to ensure they are performing their duties correctly & efficiently.  

  • Motivate, empower, and develop team members. 

  • Undertake regular 1:1s and a formal annual performance review with the team. 

  • Ability to work in a matrix reporting organisation. 

  • Function as a member of a team, demonstrating effective teamwork and ability to work collaboratively with other teams. 

  • Drive the creation, modification and regular delivery of training programs and content. 

 

Qualifications:

  • BA / BS in Finance / Accounting (or local equivalent) 

  • Professional accountancy Qualification such as, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CFA required.  

  • ERP experience required; SAP experience preferred. 

  • 5+ years of relevant PQE  

  • Leadership experience within RTR (or accounting) functions within a fast-paced multinational corporation 

  • Chemical industry experience preferred. 

  • Proven ability to lead in a team environment with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills around accounting analytics and processes. 

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively balance financial and operational factors and analyse complex business problems to develop appropriate solutions in a timely and responsive nature. 

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills people management skills, customer management skills, analytical, change management and communication skills. 

  • Strong computer skills, proficiency in Excel and Word
