Fixed Asset accounting activities for FMC Corporation’s Global business units (Legacy & New Agriculture) within the Global Financial Reporting & Accounting Group Activities include Monitoring, Maintaining, Creating, Processing, Closing, Reconciling & Tracking of Fixed Assets in a timely and accurate manner. Role is responsible for executing accounting activities in accordance with financial standards and other company policies, SOX and other regulatory requirements.  Role is also responsible for assisting with initiatives to drive standardization, process improvement and optimization across the group. Accountants are expected to maintain relationships with business units and enable achievement of financial results through high levels of financial service. 

 

System and Process Responsibility

  • Responsible for the timely completion of Regional (EMEA / NAM / LATAM / APAC) Fixed Asset accounting activities
  • Execute business FA accounting activities such as but not limited to Monitoring, Maintaining, Creating, Processing, Closing, Reconciling & Tracking of Fixed Assets in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare adjustments, accruals and other types of journal entries in accordance with the financial standards and controls framework
  • Responsible for ensuring that costs associated with construction in progress, are properly captured, classified, placed into service and depreciated according to US GAAP

  • Responsible for all fixed asset reconciliations
  • Manage fixed asset internal controls
  • Maintain Fixed Asset ledgers within SAP, providing accurate and consistent records of assets, liabilities and transactions
  • Execute regional closing activities in accordance with the close calendar and checklist and submit accurate files for consolidation in a timely manner
  • Complete US GAAP, Local (STAT) GAAP & TAX Fixed Asset Accounting ledgers
  • Partner with local (in country) coordinators on a monthly / quarterly basis
  • Monitor, onboard & train local (in country) fixed asset coordinators on FA policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, Tax accounting rules along with SOX where applicable
  • Participate in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organization, achieving identified goals
  • Promptly respond to information requests from internal and external stakeholders
  • Support internal and external audit requests
  • Comply with Global Financial Reporting & Accounting Group and business unit service delivery guidelines
  • Maintain & update KPI’s
  • Maintain & safeguard required documentation
     

People Responsibilities

  • Actively manage workload and escalate inefficiencies and concerns to the COE Manager
  • Achieve deadlines set by leadership and the business and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion
  • Assist with the creation and modification of training programs and content (as needed)

 

  • Function as a member of a team, demonstrate ability to work collaboratively within & outside of the GFA Team.

    Qualifications
  • BA / BS in Finance / Accounting (or local equivalent).
  • Professional accountancy Qualification such as, CPA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA recommended.
  • Accounting background recommended
  • MS-Office, SAP experience a plus.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience
  • Experience within R2R (or accounting) functions within a shared service center function for a multinational corporation preferred
  • Experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment with good analytical and problem solving skills around accounting analytics and processes
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills, customer management skills, analytical, change management and communication skills
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)
