Senior SAP Basis Administrator

Job Description:

The SAP Basis Administrator is a senior role. It serves as an expert in the SAP BASIS Administration team responsible for the health and management of the FMC’s SAP system landscape, which includes maintaining system availability and data security. Also responsible for ensuring corporate systems and databases meet or exceed service level metrics.

 

This position involves projects, production support activities, and On-Call support. This position requires hands-on expertise to perform migrations, support pack/enhancement pack installations, and lead technical projects, including SAP upgrades in S4/HANA, BW/4HANA, FIORI, BODS, SLT, GTS, ECC, CRM, HCM, Success Factors, GRC, PI/PO, Solution Manager, and SAP cloud-delivered solutions BTP, ARIBA, CPI.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

· Manage, monitor, tune, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues on all SAP instance pipelines, related applications, and operating systems.

· Install Support Package Stacks and Enhancement Packages; move transports through the system pipelines via ChaRM and TMS.

· Provide SAP Application, Database, and Operating system support as defined by the Technical Applications Manager and adhere to our service level agreements with the businesses.

· Plan and manage the application, database, or operating system upgrades and related activities to meet service levels, objectives, and schedules.

· Work with data center operations teams to design and implement controls for modern technologies, systems, and supporting infrastructure to ensure systems are available and recoverable according to our service level agreements.

· Document and communicate processes and procedures to the Basis team and internal and external IT customers.

· Work with the Technical Applications Manager to ensure our systems are available and secure on a 24 x 7-hour basis.

· Work with SAP technical and functional teams to establish continuous improvement maintenance activities across all systems.

· Off-hour On-Call support (24 x 7 availability) is required in case of Production issues; weekend or holiday work may be required for maintenance, Projects, or Go-Live Support.

Required Experience:

 

· Minimum 7-10 years overall experience in the Information Technology Field

· 5+ years of experience in large-scale SAP applications administration, performance tuning, and disaster planning and recovery in multiple SAP product family S4/HANA, BW/4HANA, FIORI, BODS, SLT, GTS, ECC, CRM, HCM, Enterprise Portal, GRC, PI/PO and Solution Manager.

· 5+ years of experience working with relational databases, maintenance, performance tuning, upgrading, and administering such as SAP HANA and Microsoft SQL servers. Strong Oracle DBA experience preferred.

· 5+ years of experience supporting SAP applications on Linux and Windows operating systems is required.

· Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager, including ChaRM, is required to manage transport in SAP systems.

· Working knowledge of SAP SaaS applications - SAP CPI, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), SAP Ariba, Success factors desired.

· Demonstrated experience implementing and migrating large-scale SAP enterprise-wide applications and databases to new platforms and versions

· Demonstrated strong NetWeaver JAVA stack hands-on experience

· Demonstrated ability in project planning and execution

 

Education:

B.S. or M.S. in computer science or equivalent combination of formal education and relevant experience.
