 Overall role and responsibility

 

Accounting activities for FMC Corporation’s Global business units.

Activities include Monitoring, Maintaining, Creating, Processing, Closing, Reconciling & Tracking of transactions in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsible for executing accounting activities in accordance with financial standards and other company policies, SOX and other regulatory requirements.

Responsible for assisting with initiatives to drive standardization, process improvement and optimization across the group.
Accountants are expected to maintain relationships with business units and enable achievement of financial results through high levels of financial service.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely completion of Regional (EMEA / NAM / LATAM / APAC) intercompany accounting activities

  • Execute business accounting activities such as but not limited to Monitoring, Maintaining, Creating, Processing, Closing, Reconciling & Tracking of transactions in a timely and accurate manner

  • Investigate OOB and resolve differences

  • Confirmation of balances

  • Preparation of reconciliations, including aged analysis, and uploading into Blackline

  • Raising and settlement of invoices in line with all applicable statutory requirements: accounting, tax, and treasury

  • Complete adjustments, accruals, and other types of journal entries in accordance with the financial standards and controls framework

  • Assist in the execution of specific controls within accounting processes and other general accounting activities

  • Help to maintain Intercompany Billing Tool and ledgers within SAP, providing accurate and consistent records of assets, liabilities, and transactions

  • Partner with local finance on a monthly / quarterly basis

  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP, local GAAP, Tax accounting rules along with SOX where applicable

  • Participate in strategic continuous improvement initiatives in the organization, achieving identified goals (financial, process or talent)

  • Promptly respond to information requests from internal and external stakeholders

  • Comply with Global COE and business unit service delivery guidelines

  • Maintain & update KPI’s

  • Maintain & safeguard required documentation

 

 People Responsibilities 

  • Supervise work performed by any direct reports

  • Undertake regular 1:1s and a formal annual performance review with each member of team

  • Actively manage workload and escalate inefficiencies and concerns to the Accounting Manager

  • Achieve deadlines set by leadership and the business and proactively monitor and raise instances where deadlines cannot be met in a timely fashion

  • Function as a member of a team, demonstrate ability to work collaboratively within & outside of the Team

 

Qualification/Competences

  • Functional/technical competences (incl. education):
    • BA / BS in Finance / Accounting (or local equivalent).

    • Professional accountancy Qualification such as, CPA, CFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA recommended.

    • Accounting background recommended

    • MS-Office,

    • SAP experience

  • Personal Competences:

    • 2+ years of relevant experience

    • Experience within RTR (or accounting) functions within a shared service center function for a multinational corporation preferred

    • Experience working with an ERP system, preferably SAP

    • Intercompany reconciliation responsibility and experience is a strong advantage

    • Proven ability to work in a team environment
