The Indirect Tax Solution Lead is accountable to preserve the integrity of the existing global design for specific business process area (s), This role will work closely with EGCI Functional Integration Lead, Global Process Owners, IT and Functional COE leads to evaluate and approve requests to introduce new design or enhance exsiting design while ensuring the integrity of global design, scalability for expansion and sustainability of recommended solution.  For projects led by ES Team resources, this role is responsible for monitoring project, including resource assumptions, testing strategy, acceptance criteria, risk management, and transition to IT and Functional COE’s.  In addition, this role may be responsible for project management and oversight, as well as execution of projects.  The Design Owner should be comfortable working Globally, on Localization matters.

 

The Indirect Tax Design Owner should show proficiency in Business Processes with Tax Touchpoints in Sales, Accounts Receivable (Sales Tax/ VAT/ GST), Exports, Purchases (Direct, Indirect), Accounts Payable (Consumer Use Tax/ VAT/ GST), Imports, Plants Abroad, Triangulation, Reverse Charge, Intercommunity Acquisition/Dispatch, VAT Deductibility (Full/Partial), Intercompany Transactions (Stock Transfer Orders), SAP Tax Code Condition Records, SAP Tax Reports (EC Sales, Intrastat, AR VAT Report, AP VAT Report, Standard Reports)

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide approval and process/solution expertise for all projects, enhancements and changes within assigned process areas that impact global design
  • Collaboration with business stateholders and Functional COE’s to ensure delivery of solutions that meet business requirements
  • Engage with  Release Management Lead to identify dependencies with activities managed outside of ES Team
  • Execute design and mange delivery of solutions in S/4 HANA and third party solutions including the following activities:
    • Oversight and quality assurance of test scenario development; identification of integration scenarios and validation of end to end scenario across functions
    • Oversight and quality assurance of functional impacts in the cutover plan with a focus on risk mitigation to production environments and business disruption avoidance
    • Oversight and quality assurance of data objects defiand renitions and data migration effort
  • Adherence to FMC project governance and controls
  • Partner’s with Global and Regional Process Owners, and Business Stakeholders to support Business Case and requirements collection activities.

 

 

 

Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Computer Science or relevant business discipline) or a relevant Business discipline (i.e. Finance, Accounting, Tax) with demonstrated ERP experience. 
  • 6+ years of project delivery experience in complex SAP environment; experience in at least one full cycle S/4 HANA implementation is very desirable
  • Strong understanding of following Software and Tools:
    • SAP S4/HANA
    • Vertex O Series, version 8 or higher
    • Vertex Returns
    • Vertex Accelerator (Data Mapping, SPOT Reports, Tax Code Defaulting, VendoRecon, RFC Queue Management, SIC Logging, Tax Jurisdiction, Exemption Certificate Management)
  • Strong understanding of SAP Level 3, 4, and 5 processes within designated functional area
  • Experience implementing SAP functionality within assigned process area, as well as solid understanding of integration points to other modules and third party solutions
  • Strong Familiarity with integrated business processes i.e. Stock Transfer, Procurement, Order Management, Billing, Accounts Payable
  • Project Management experience demonstrating adherence to governance, controls and best practices
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
