The Material Planner position executes key material planning and master data business transactions for the Middleport site.  This position will also be accountable for ensuring transactions are executed in the preferred systems and tools to support compliance.  The key focus of this role is to ensure materials are ordered and delivered with sufficient time to support operational needs.


Major Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Global Procurement Service Center (GPSC) to ensure updates are processed in SAP as required to meet site needs
  • Provide support for processing Accounts Payable issues through SAP FIORI
  • Create purchase requisitions for material planning and follow the delivery progression of the materials to support the production
  • Create and review outline agreements (contracts), info records, and source lists in SAP for plant(s) in region to input pricing and commercial terms into systems
  • Work with suppliers to resolve local supply issues, tracks vendor reliability & performance as well as product/material/service quality
  • Review supplier performance data and assists in driving improvement at local level
  • Reconcile pended invoices including price discrepancies (notifying Category Manager where appropriate)
  • Review daily Supply Chain Health Metrics and support on resolution to open issues
  • Certify proper order/transactional execution, data entry and follow-up reporting
  • Implement master data processes to confirm data is accurate
  • Support relevant site quality systems, RCMS/Safety Systems, or other such management systems where applicable.



  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2-3 years of relevant work experience in related commercial field(s)



  • Minimum 2-3 years of general experience in industry (chemicals, Petrochemicals) preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in of procurement or comparable valuable experience from other areas (marketing, sales, customer service, etc.)
  • Able to speak and write in the English language
  • Strong SAP experience
