Business/Function Overview:

Provide leadership and longer-term planning on market and portfolio strategies, identifying segment opportunities, and flawlessly integrating new active ingredients and technologies into the product lines. Successfully maximize the growth potential within the portfolio of active ingredients and segments you will be managing with and through the Product Managers who will be reporting to you, fostering a team based work environment that encourages professional

 

Responsibilities:

  • Development and execution of market segment strategies
    • Lead the market segment planning process assessing the attractiveness of growth opportunities, new markets & product potential, and business strategies
    • Evaluation, design & track the effectiveness/profitability of channel strategies and the activities associated with the implementation – ie: Marketing programs, promotions, distributor selection and programs
    • Lead market research & data collection to ensure customer intimacy and drive market requirements into the product development charter process
    • Identify new markets and growth strategies
  • Brand development and life cycle management for NAC portfolio
    • Development of the life cycle strategy for each major brand, segment, and/or active ingredient which you are accountable for
    • Advertising and communications planning to establish brand positioning and competitive advantages for the portfolio
    • Pricing strategies and structure, implementation, and overall profitability analysis
    • Portfolio rationalization to optimize opportunities
    • Oversight of marketing forecast
    • Responsible for the implementation and communication of product stewardship initiatives
    • Manage the development of annual budgets, forecasts and the monthly projection of profit, expense, risk and opportunities
  • Portfolio and Market Enhancement
    • Utilize market knowledge and analysis to identify new product/project opportunities and lead the process to evaluate, prioritize, and execute those that are a strategic fit for NAC.
    • Ownership and direction of the product development process conducting the valuations and furthering the best projects towards commercialization and launch in a timely manner.
    • Participate in the development of the channel strategy and key customer alignment initiatives such as business planning, APG strategy implementation, private labeling, product development projects, etc. by effective interaction with Sales Marketing and Development and internal functional teams.
    • Review and recommend potential trading parties, new alliances/acquisitions and internal commercial development initiatives to identify, qualify and develop new business opportunities on a global basis.
    • Work closely with Business Development with 3rd party negotiations with companies outside FMC to maximize business efficiencies.
  • People Management
    • Line management of direct reports
    • Ensure Professional Development Plans are in place for team
    • Ensure aligned objectives and regular feedback for each team member

 

Required Education:

 

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Agriculture related field
  • MBA preferred

 

Qualifications:

  • 10 to 15 years’ experience in marketing & marketing management
  • Experience developing long term business and market strategies
  • Experience in evaluation and return on investment analysis for development projects
  • Excellent leadership skills and effective people development and talent management
  • Demonstrated understanding of value marketing/selling and generic defense strategies
  • Experience working to develop innovative strategies, products, and concepts
  • Financial and analytical skills, which include NPV analysis, break-even analysis and income statement development and analysis
  • Ability to lead a matrix organization and extract value from such a structure
  • Excellent communications skills and expertise developing and presenting ideas
