Business/Function Overview:

As the Project Manager for US Crop you will be reporting into the Director of Marketing, US Crop. Based in Philadelphia, your role is focused on defining new product opportunities as well as managing a growing portfolio of innovative projects driving towards commercialization.  The role will be focused on projects and product launches ranging from -3 to 2-year outlook. On a day to day basis your role will require you to support and maintain the existing projects as well as future projects.  All aspects of your role will require you to work closely and deeply with the US Crop. Marketing team, Our Strategic Account Executives who manage our key customer relationships, Operations and Supply Chain, Legal, and Global Marketing.  The Agricultural Solution business manages a growing portfolio of innovation projects driving towards commercialization. It is critical we optimize the value of this portfolio by stewarding the launch process at every stage through best in class project management.

 

 

Responsibilities: 

The Project Manager will work directly with the US Marketing and internal stakeholders to:

  • Defines projects that must meet the business case value and deadlines as specified at initiation, through the leading of a network of regional commercial leaders and global personnel responsible for ensuring that technical and commercial data is current and accurate
  • Responsible to work with internal teams to establish a set of criteria to evaluate US Crop projects for advancement
  • Overall responsibility to manage timelines, milestones and deliverables for all approved projects
  • Engagement and coordination with the North America Innovation Council,  Executes decisions, gains commitment to agreed actions, and ensures work quality of the network deliverables
  • Motivates, communicates and facilitates project network members to meet goals and deadlines as determined by the network work plan and business case
  • Ensures a single, consistent data set on the project to be created by the network members
  • Grow value: challenge and mentor the core teams in defining new opportunities, ensure high quality forecast in all concepts/projects, leverage projects from other areas and businesses, pursue selective new concepts/projects aligned with global business management team strategies
  • Develop with team members core documents to be reviewed and updated to capture key assumptions at each project milestone (Biology Star Chart, Gaant Chart, Commercial Launch Playbook, Formulation Summary and criteria, etc.)

Required Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business/agriculture/science/engineering
  • Master’s in business/science/engineering preferred but not required

 

Qualifications: 

  • 5 + years’ experience in Project Management in new product development and R&D with preference given to experience in the specialty chemicals industry.
  • 3-5 years’ experience managing project managers and project teams.  Proven ability to develop and lead project managers to manage project timelines, resources, and budgetary requirements.
  • Skilled in the practice of being able to influence proactively and build consensus to affect change.
  • Experienced in working within global organizations and an aptitude to work in diverse cultures.
  • Exceptional analytical, verbal and written communication skills, including conflict resolution skills.
  • Comfortable communication with and taking input from a variety of people, including senior management.
  • Certification in project management required (for example, a PMP certification from PMI).  In addition, certification from PDMA is a plus.
  • Experience with PPM software and MS Project Professional and administering Project Server and SharePoint required, administration of Portfolio Project Server considered a plus.
  • Understands the key technical characteristics and general/business implication of the broad range of products, process and technologies used by FMC.
  • Experienced in working within global organization an aptitude to work in diverse cultures.
  • Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally – up to 20% travel required.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and coach others.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
